Velántur Cars. The Spanish electric car that will arrive in 2017

The Spanish carmaker Velántur Cars has announced the launch of an all-electric car.
This project is an initiative of Jofemar, a Spanish company with a long tradition in electrical systems. Actually, they are in the last steps of the development, with the beginning of the production expected in 2017. The factory will be located in the Spanish city of Linares, in Jaen.

The idea is to launch a car which combines a classic design with a modern propulsion system. The first information speaks about a 100% electric propulsion, with a big li-ion battery. With this battery system, the car will able to travel more than 250 miles (400 kilometers) with a single charge. Velántur says that the car do the 0-60 mph in less than 8 seconds.

Now, the manufacturer is doing the preliminary tests before starting the industrialization process. The beginning of the production is expected to 2017, with a estimated production of 4.000 units per year. There is no information about the price, or the markets where the Velántur will available.
