The Spanish carmaker
Velántur Cars has announced the launch of an all-electric car.
This project is an initiative of Jofemar, a Spanish company with a long tradition in electrical systems. Actually, they are in the last steps of the development, with the beginning of the production expected in 2017. The factory will be located in the Spanish city of Linares, in Jaen.

The idea is to launch a car
which combines a classic design with a modern propulsion system. The first information
speaks about a 100% electric propulsion, with a big li-ion battery. With this battery system, the car will able to travel
more than 250 miles (400 kilometers) with a single charge. Velántur says that
the car do the 0-60 mph in less than 8 seconds.
Now, the manufacturer is
doing the preliminary tests before starting the industrialization process. The
beginning of the production is expected to 2017, with a estimated production of
4.000 units per year. There is no information about the price, or the markets
where the Velántur will available.
